B.A.M (Bachelor of Anger Management)

There was a father and a son, who were living in a village. The father was a carpenter and the son was a student who was studying in a high school. The son’s mother was an extremely short-tempered person. The main problem was that she would throw words which would hurt anyone. The mother would doubt her husband unnecessarily and she was a tough personality. He decided to leave his wife and take his son so that she could not be a bad influence on his son. The father was the straight opposite to her. He was cool and calm.

The father raised the son. He gave him everything he needed and more. The father did all of his duties - even more than he could afford. The son was also equally good and was a boy who understood the family’s survival and behaved according to it. The son was well disciplined and an obedient. His father taught him right from wrong.

One day, the father was watching news on the TV. At the same time, the son asked to watch his favorite sports channel. The father refused to change the channel and was concentrating on the news. His son was begging for a while and suddenly started to yell at his father. The son used some disrespectful words with his father. The father was shocked. The son’s eyes turned red. He yelled again at his father and kicked the door of the living room and went to his room.

The father was upset with his son’s action. He made up his mind to advice his child. He went towards him. The son was crying. The father gave him a piece of wood and some nails. And he asked his son to hammer a nail into the wood when he is angry. The son followed his father’s advice but they were still not communicating well.

Days passed. Step by step, his anger diminished. The father was observing this. One day, he took his child to a quiet park. The father asked his son to bring the piece of wood. At the park, the father asked his son to remove all the nails from the piece of wood.

After the son took out of all of the nails, the father asked his son, “Now what do you see in this?” The son, who was maintaining silence for a minute, replied that he could see the holes in the piece of wood.

The father sat next to his child, and he placed his hand on his son’s shoulder. The father said, “Son, think of the nails as what you say when you are angry. The holes are the impact of your words. Now, whatever you do, you can’t cover the holes. Even though you might try, you can’t make the piece of wood look as it did before. That’s it my son, you can’t take back what you have said. So better think twice before you talk.”

He apologized and hugged his father tightly. !!!!!!!
