MY DAD'S LIFE

My dad was an interesting and an important person for me. My dad had 5 brothers and he was second eldest. He was born in Hulhu Mal’e and lived there, until he shifted to Mal’e. In Hulhu Mal’e he lived in a hut among trees and greenery with white beaches. His parents died when he was young. My dad lived a hard life when he was a child.

There were 5 small brothers to take care of. He worked as all island workers do. Fishing was common. Climbing coconut palm trees and collecting coconuts were also some of his job. The tough job was building a hut. My father and his 5 brothers each had a shelter. My dad was a good swimmer. He said one day that he picked up something unusual and unknown to them. One of my father’s friends snatched it and said it smelled bad. He threw the stone like thing into the sea, but my father went again and picked it up. He thought this will be something valuable and it was Ambergris which is a solid, waxy, flammable substance of a dull gray or blackish color produced in the digestive system of and regurgitated by sperm whale. He gave it to the government and got three shirts and money too.

He married a woman when he was 15. He did so because he had to take care of his family. My father made each brother a house and even for himself but then the government needed to construct the international airport in Hulhule (near Male). They made families to move to the city, Mal’e. The land was given to the people who lived in Hulhule.

My father lived happily but he needed children to have a family of his own but still had no child. Doctors said that his wife had problems that she couldn't have children any more. The problem was the fetus was blocked. At that time they had no treatment. My father was worried about it. He didn’t divorce the first wife but he needed children more than anything else.

My father prayed to Allah to have a good family. Then he met my mother, who lived on another island. My father had travelled so far to fulfill his dream. The island was S.Hithadhoo, the largest island in our country. My dad wanted to marry my mother. In Allah’s grace my father married her. My mom was young.

Although my father had a second marriage, he kept his first wife in his house. My father had divided it into several houses. After the years passed his first wife died. My father character is very simple. He won’t charge a high rent. My mom forced him to do it. My mom wanted to make a big house with floors but there were divisions. My father dreamed about children and the first son was me. Then my two sisters were born. My mom was strongest women as she got third child in critical way.

Now my dad’s brothers are rich. They have their own shops. They are rich due to my father’s hard work in childhood but they don't share their wealth. They have never even met us. We didn’t know their names until my father’s death. Though they were rich, their sons and daughters haven’t studied up to the level which we studied at present. They are not happy as their children could hardly study up to 8th grade. My father was happy and in our family we achieved high levels in our studies. At first, my father didn’t send us to other countries when we were doing well in our studies, but the government schools became very bad so he decided to let us become transnational.

We studied in India and at present we are in Sri Lanka. My dad passed away in Sri Lanka. We miss him.

My father was good. Everyone trusted him because of his honesty. He was in MTCC (a Maldives sea transport company) for many years until his death. When he was 20 he started working there. He was promoted. He didn’t retire until his death.

I feel really sad about my father's death, but I was proud that he achieved his goals. He got a certificate for the best worker and was in the SAARC summit also. I am proud to have the best dad in the world.

Heading up the household

It all began when I went to India, five years ago. I am a boy, who is taking care of my mom and two sisters. My father agreed to send us to India. I was sad that my father agreed to send us to India. I was sad that my father was not going to come; he had work in the Maldives. It was the second time that I was going to India. I was a little scared, though it was the second time. I had gone to India before when I was small.

It was easy to travel to India, since there was no heavy luggage to carry. We said the last goodbye to my father and we went to Mysore (near Bangalore). We lived happily and there was my father’s friend who helped us.

I had hard time and missed my father. The head of the household was me. So I had to buy things which were needed. We were in a house which was rented. If my mom had to go to a shop, she would take me for sure, since I could talk to go to a shop, she would take me for sure, since I could talk to three wheel drivers in their language and I could carry the shopping bags.

It wasn’t an easy task. Though I didn’t want to do shopping, I had to do it because it’s my responsibility to make my family happy. Taking care of money was the thing I did first. I calculated income and paid the bills. I missed my father because he was doing everything when I was in my country (Maldives).

I lived in Mysore and we moved to Chennai. It was two years that we lived in Mysore. It was a hard time packing everything. But the actually moving was easy. They transport all heavy furniture and carriages.

It was a good time living in Chennai. There was my uncle’s friend who was truthful and honest. The reason we moved to Chennai is a long story it was about the people who cheated us badly. Taking care of the family was easy for me as I was experienced.

I helped my mom while cooking, like using a fry pan. My sister’s learned to cook from my mother, but my mom’s always the best cooker in whole world.

We had good feedback as many people trust us due to our honesty and discipline. The shopkeeper who is near my house trusted me. He would agree if I paid the items later. The three wheel driver could not cheat us because I would speak “Tamil”. My mom could not go shop without me.

I usually tricked them like before I went, I would ask how much. If it’s high amount ignore him and try to take another three wheeler. Most of the time the three wheeler would reduce the amount and at last he would say the exact amount of what I was expected.

Life was hard when I went to my country with heavy luggage. We went to Chennai Airport and I knew the luggage would exceed the weight limit. Each person could carry 20 kg but our things weighted more than 200kg. I carried the luggage to the scale and again I took it back because they didn’t allow it. Anyway we had to go to Maldives as our passport were expired and needed to renew them in order to stay in the country. My uncle’s friend was but I asked the weight then the cost. It was a huge amount to pay for the luggage.

I gave my UPS and other two heavy boxes to my uncle friend. Then we gave the money. It was not at all easy going back; checking the luggage, wait in a long queue and putting back the entire luggage to the scale. Even the workers who are there to check the luggage weight apologized to us. They were not at all happy since the chairman of the airport did not allow and scolded us. We are student who was studying in India but he didn’t care and was strict.

The workers who were there reduced the price. Actually price was more. They said to not to tell but I was glad that they helped us. I thanked them and they said you are young and taking good care of your family.

My mom was very proud of me because I took the responsibility and solved the problem. I was really tired. I was sweating and panting. I took a long breath and glad that it was over. I took a deep breath and relaxed on the airplane.

When I arrived to the Maldives it was midnight. My uncle was there to help. The hard job came again. It was to carry the luggage to first floor using staircase. First I thought it was kind of impossible but with the help of my uncle and my father we did it.

My uncle was sweating and tired like me. My father was old and I didn’t allow him to carry heavy luggage at Airport.

I want to advice to all my friends to have courage and not to give up. Life is not a shortcut. We may face hardships but win or achieve the goal will make you great. Remember “impossible” simply means I’m possible.

Love and how I survive

When I was in class seven I had best friend name Serena. She was my type of a girl. She studied, did her work, ate lunch and went where ever I wanted. We both always did the same thing at the same time. My house was very near to the school. So my dad would drop me also. In those days classes finished in the afternoon, 12 o’ clock, and after coming home I did my prayers and had lunch to get ready for tuition.

Two months later, I met a very cute guy names Nate. He started his name with ‘N’ like me. I liked him, he was so caring. When I am coming home from tuition I saw him near my house meeting one of our neighbors. When I saw him he gave a nice smile, but at that time I was not so serious with him. I just left it without seeing him again and without smiling, but unfortunately, next day he was alone and waiting in front of my house’s main door. I was so surprised. I wanted to ignore him and not see him, but he was in front of the main door. He was blocking my way. When I came near him I said “excuse me.” He just asked, “What is your name?” then I would leave you. I said my mother hasn’t given me a name yet. He laughed and told please tell because he likes me and he wanted to stay with me. I said I will talk to my mother. Then only he left me and I quickly went home and said to my mother everything. Then, quickly my mom went and saw him from balcony. She saw and said, he is good looking guy, but to be with him I don’t have a single thing to do and think of, because I was still studying. But every day after tuition classes he used to wait for me. Therefore, I talked to him to know about him and to check whether he could wait till mu studies finish so I thought that was true. I believed him and trusted him. For two months we were just talking to each other. We never had a date.
We talked about us a lot. And I had him met my friends and my best friend. Then, everyone said we were just like a couple so nice with each other. Therefore, I liked him too. At that age I never felt love at anyone. But I had a deep crush. Though, I had a crush, my studies were brilliant never fail in my studies. I am second in my studies and it is quite hard to beat the first one. I never received a ‘B’ in English. I always get a ‘C’ with 3 or 2 mark loss to get a ‘B’. So three months after, I told him a very bad news that, I have to leave my native place and go back to India for my further studies. He was sad even me too. I promised him I would come back to see him and also I would call him. So I left him and went to India. Before going to India I gave his number to my best friend Serena in the sense if something happens to him.

After one year, I called my best friend, because I was unable to respond to his number. So I just called him and I asked to give his number. She just called him and I asked to give his number. She said she didn’t have it. I was shocked. So after my studies I decided and even my mum decided to go back to my native place to see what had happened.

I went on vacation to my native place. There I went to my best friend’s house with my mom. But she was not at home. I called my other friends and they told she was in a restaurant. It was a special new restaurant. I went to see her there. I got sad and shocked, because she was dating my crush. I was inside and faced them. Nate was shocked to see me. I said to forget me forever. I said this to my friend also. I left him and my best friend. As soon as possible I went back to India.

So hereafter, I thought I would not fall in love with anyone, because men are liars, cheaters and foolish people. I would fall in love with someone or like someone after my studies.

Now a day, love is nothing for some people. Very few people know how precious love is. I know this very well. Till now I have had more than 15 proposers. I never ever accept. I just reject them. It’s free and happy to be single. Now I have a new best friend from India and Sri Lankan friends are really sweet. Everyone is friendly specially college friends. I hope in America also there would be nice friends.

The happiest day in my life

Everyone has the happiest day of their life. These happy days can be: Birthdays, Anniversaries and other holidays. Each of these days brings up a happy moment which washes away the tension and worries. This happy moment becomes a sweet memory when the moment has passed. Like many other people, I also have a happy day in my life, my 10th birthday.

My 10th birthday was a very memorable day. Just before the day everyone in my home, including my dad was very busy. I was sitting on my bed looking at all of the hard work they were doing. I did not know exactly why they were so busy one day before my birthday. After my dinner at 8, I went and slept. Nobody was free at that time. Time passed just like the way the rain does. I didn’t realize how soon my birthday would come.

I worked up at 7 realizing that something was lying on my stomach. it was very hard and I hardly could imagine what it was. I got up and found many decorative presents all over my bed. I closed my eyes twice thinking it was a dream, but no, it was not. I pinched myself in order to come out from the dream, but I realized it was not a dream. My whole family was around me with a bright smile. I burst out. I started to open all my presents. I got many toys, books, ornaments and cards. I loved all of my gifts. I went to a restaurant to enjoy the rest of my happiness and I enjoyed it all. Then I knew why all my family members were busy that night.

The most important person in my life

The most important person in my life is my mother, who always looks after me. If my mother is a cat’s head and body, I would be its tail going behind her and helping her in al her work. She is well-known person to me because she has been taking care of me since I was delivered from her.

She is short, fair, good looking, obedient, active, the best cook, the best adviser and the best mother in the whole universe. I love her so much. She is caring and very kind mother, who always gives equal right to all her children. She is the best cook because she cooks the most delicious food that would be totally impossible to get from any places in the globe. She is active and punctual with her work and that makes me learn a very good lesson. I learnt many things from her that would definitely benefit my future.

She is very important person to me because she plays a very huge role in helping my studies. She gives a well-known and proper education that will brighten up my future. Without her support and advices seeing a dream of getting first place or even fourth place would be totally impossible. This shows how important she is to me. She treats me if I am sick and she looks after me in such a way that even a nurse in a hospital would not be able to do. She is very helpful and very kind person, whom I have ever let in my whole entire life.

She helps me in learning housework such as cooking, washing clothes, sweeping floors and so on. All this work is very hard even to try without help from my mother. She is a very important and a valuable person in my life.

Meet a perfect man

There are important qualities to look for in a good man and if you are Muslim there are additional very important things to find in a good man.

First, the man whom you would choose, should be a very truthful man. He should be honest, punctual and very caring. 'Honesty is the best policy.' Being punctual impress a girl, whenever he comes in at the right time. You will love him more. However, being cared for is the most important, you will love him when he takes care just like a loving parent. He should take care of the girl's family members too. A perfect man should have a nice smile, smart, rich, handsome, muscular, fair and most important educated. These are the things which should be there in a good man.

Secondly, being a muslim man. you will want to find a partner who is in the same religion. Mostly a man who always does five time prayers. If all these things are present in his body then it would be a correct, perfect and a better man in your life. Most probably he should prohibited smoking and drinking. This is called a better man in your life.

So for all the girls, choose or meet a better man which includes these attitudes so that your life would be happy forever

Love

Love is a tricky business which is unpredictable and beautiful, but sometimes heart breaking. Many people in the world fall in love with a person very quickly. He/she might be very happy about it, but it does not proceed forever except for a very few people. It is beautiful because it satisfies a human heart completely. Sometimes it is heartbreaking because it does not continue forever.

Love for a pet is different from a love for a human being, but for some people it is the same. There are people who risk their lives for their loved ones. It can either be a pet or a human being. The most beautiful part of love is building up a strong or true love for each other. It should be as strong as a stone and as true as anything in the world. No one in the world should have the guts to break it. This would definitely be true love. This love is very rare in this globe because most of the people do not love a person forever.

A love marriage is common, but sometimes the couple divorces soon. There can be many reasons behind it, but a true lover would not break his/her love for him/her loved one. Very few try to follow this up, but if they did the level of the divorce would decrease.
